BALDWIN PARK, CA (February 19, 2020) – A 55-year-old man was killed, and a 37-year-old man was injured in a suspected DUI crash on the 10 freeway, near Francisquito Avenue.
Ana Guillen, a 57-year-old West Covina woman, is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, resulting in the multi-vehicle collision. Following the fatal crash, she was admitted to Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center for an evaluation of her mental health as well.
According to California Highway Patrol, Guillen was either driving very slowly or came to a complete stop on the freeway when a 1993 Nissan pick-up truck sideswiped her and spun out of control. The Nissan was then hit by a Honda Accord.
The driver of the Nissan, the 55-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda reportedly fractured his back and was transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina.
