SANTA BARBARA, CA (April 9, 2020) – One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash on Highway 154, east of San Marcos Road.
California Highway Patrol stated that the two-vehicle crash occurred around 6 p.m. on Painted Cave Road when a Mazda 3, driven by Brian W. Dul, suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Toyota 4Runner. The sole passenger in the Mazda, only described as a 21-year-old from Santa Barbara, was killed.
The two occupants of the Toyota, a man and woman in their 50s from Long Beach, sustained minor injuries. They were transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Brian Dul reportedly suffered moderate injuries, and has since been arrested for driving under the influence.
