SACRAMENTO, CA (June 19, 2020) – Two people were killed and one was injured in a head-on crash on Interstate 5 near Sacramento International Airport, around 12:45 a.m.
California Highway Patrol stated that a 2003 Subaru Outback being driven by a 49-year-old man collided head-on with a 1992 Honda Accord being driven by a 56-year-old woman. The 49-year-old man, for unknown reasons, was driving the wrong direction on I-5.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. There was one passenger in the Honda, who was transported to the hospital with major injuries. Their current condition is unknown.
The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
