SAN DIMAS, CA (July 17, 2019) – A 22-year-old woman and a 5-month-old baby suffered major injuries in a car accident on the 57 Freeway, near Covina Boulevard.
The crash was first reported at 10:30 p.m., after a 25-year-old man driving southbound in a 2015 Honda suddenly rear-ended a 2018 Kia carrying the woman and baby as passengers. The woman suffered a broken thigh bone, as well as a laceration to her liver, and the baby reportedly sustained major head injuries.
The driver of the Honda suffered moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported. All three were transported to Pomona Valley Hospital.
The southbound lanes of the 57 freeway were shut down and traffic was rerouted until 2 a.m. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
