ANAHEIM, CA (July 26, 2019) – Christina Gaona, an 18-year-old woman from Utah, is in critical condition, and four others were injured in a DUI-involved crash with Leobardo Robledo. The 11:45 p.m. accident happened at the intersection of Orangewood and Manchester Avenues.
Anaheim Police responded to the scene after receiving numerous calls about the multi-injury collision. Police say Robledo, 24, was driving southbound in his black 2014 Dodge Sedan on Manchester Avenue when he blew through a red light, striking a black 2019 Honda Fit.
The Honda, which was carrying five teenagers from Utah, was traveling through the intersection on a green light. Both cars crashed into a utility pole as a result of the initial collision.
All five of the teenagers in the Honda were transported to the hospital. Four of them, all 18-year-old men, are in stable condition. One other, 18-year-old Christina Gaona, suffered a severe brain injury and multiple fractures, and is in a medically induced coma.
Robledo was also injured. He was arrested for DUI and DUI causing serious bodily injury or death.
