LOS ALAMITOS, CA (March 12, 2020) – A sleeping homeless person was killed when a vehicle that led Cypress police on a pursuit struck them before crashing into C&H Pharmacy on Katella Avenue.
The police pursuit began just after midnight when they attempted to stop the silver Honda accord that was suspected in a hit-and-run and they took off.
The pursuit eventually ended in the fatal crash at the intersection of Katella Avenue and Bloomfield Street, when the Honda jumped the curb and plowed into the homeless person and the pharmacy.
Both the driver and the passenger attempted to run, but were arrested. The identity of the homeless person has not yet been released by authorities.
