HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (July 22, 2019) – Kenneth Walsh and Miriam Rodriguez were killed and three more were injured in a crash on Beach Boulevard, near Cypress Drive and Taylor Drive.
Police responded to the scene of the accident just before 9:30 p.m. at the 18000 block of Beach Boulevard. At the scene was a 2007 red Honda Fit with a badly damaged passenger side. The driver of this vehicle, a 29-year-old Walsh of Chino Hills, and his passenger, a 33-year-old Rodriguez of Huntington Beach, were pronounced dead by first responders.
The other vehicle, a 2012 Volkswagen Passat, sustained major damage to the front bumper. The driver, a 25-year-old man, and his two passengers, a 22-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman, were transported to the hospital in unknown conditions. All three are residents of Huntington Beach.
Huntington Beach police are still investigating the fatal crash, and are looking for witnesses and video footage. The cause of the crash is still unknown, but the driver of the Volkswagen is said to be cooperating with police.
Northbound Beach Boulevard lanes were closed between Talbert Avenue and Main Street for hours after the crash.
