STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (May 8, 2019) – Lance Ober, a 50-year old Studio City man, was killed in a Big Rig-involved accident on the I-5 Northbound near Tracy, California, in the unincorporated area of Stanislaus County.
The deadly accident happened around 12:20 a.m when Lance’s 2018 Nissan rear-ended two men in a Volvo tractor-trailer at a high rate of speed. The California Highway Patrol stated that when officers first responded to the scene, they found the two men from the Volvo uninjured, standing outside their vehicle. Ober was still in his 2018 Nissan.
Officers stated that Ober suffered major trauma from the incident. First responders pronounced Ober dead at 12:58 a.m, at the scene of the accident.
CHP officers stated that shortly before the accident was reported, they received at least one report of a reckless driver on the I-5, possibly regarding Ober. The CHP is still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the fatal crash.
