OAKLAND, CA (December 18, 2019) – A man was killed early Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle involved crash on the I-580, near Lakeshore Avenue.
Just after 4 a.m., the first collision occurred between a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Toyota Camry in the westbound lanes of the freeway. The Camry was able to pull to the right shoulder of the freeway, but the Chevy was left sideways across two lanes.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if any other individuals involved suffered injuries.
All lanes of both sides of the freeway were closed for a short while until being reopened just after 5:45 a.m.
