
Gizem Gures is a Trial Attorney at Jacoby & Meyers. Gizem attended University of California, Berkeley for her undergraduate studies, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Gizem attended Santa Clara University, School of Law, where she received the James A. Emery, S.J. Merit Law Scholarship that is awarded to entering law students who have achieved outstanding academic merit credentials.
During her time in law school, Gizem held various law clerk positions with global tech companies and law firms in the Silicon Valley. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Breall of the San Francisco Superior Court and received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Labor Law.
Prior to joining Jacoby & Meyers, Gizem defended billion-dollar insurance companies in diverse practice areas pertaining to high exposure personal injury, premises liability, and landlord-tenant disputes. She left the defense side in favor of plaintiff’s work, seeking justice and channeling her energy into making injured plaintiffs whole again. Gizem’s prior experience as a defense litigator gives her the added advantage of anticipating defense strategies. Gizem uses this knowledge to keep her clients one step ahead, navigating their cases toward the best possible outcomes.
Gizem is fluent in Turkish. When not in the office, she enjoys taking long walks with her golden retriever, reading psychological thrillers, and spending time with her family and friends.
