Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez Fatally Struck by a Pickup Truck in Oxnard
Oxnard, CA (August 14, 2022) – Carmen Ramirez (73), a Ventura County Supervisor, was identified as the fatality in a pedestrian accident on Seventh and A streets in Oxnard. According to ABC7, the crash occurred around 6:40 pm on Friday.
Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez did not survive her injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in Oxnard.
The Oxnard Police reported a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian on Seventh and A streets in Oxnard.
When responding paramedics arrived, they then rushed the pedestrian to the emergency room. Unfortunately, the pedestrian later succumbed to her injuries.
Oxnard Police identified the pedestrian involved as Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez.
According to authorities, the pickup truck driver was headed west on Seventh and A streets in Oxnard when he reportedly struck Ramirez, who was crossing the intersection within the crosswalk.
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Ventura County, the Oxnard Police Department, and Oxnard Mayor John Zaragoza have shared their heartfelt condolences for Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez and her surviving family members.
