Geoffrey Hickey, Esq. has spent the entirety of his career representing people who have been seriously hurt or killed because someone else was careless, reckless, or worse. His practice covers the full range of personal injury and wrongful death litigation, and over the course of his career he has recovered tens of millions of dollars for clients and their families.
A Cleveland, Ohio-area native, Geoffrey attended The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1997 with a concentration in U.S. military history. That same year he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served honorably through 2001. He attended the University of Akron School of Law on a full academic scholarship while still in the Reserves, earned his J.D. in May 2001, and was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio later that year.
Geoffrey took on serious injury cases from the very start of his career. He spent more than a decade litigating high stakes matters on behalf of injured victims in Cleveland, before relocating his practice to California in 2013.
In March 2026, he joined Jacoby & Meyers, where he continues to focus exclusively on representing injured plaintiffs.
He is licensed to practice in California, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California, the Northern District of Ohio, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His courtroom work has taken him into state and federal courts across Ohio, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Washington. Clients and colleagues describe him as a tenacious advocate who genuinely understands what his clients are going through, a reputation built one case at a time.
Geoffrey has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year from 2010 through 2014, and again as a Super Lawyer in 2018 thru 2025. The National Trial Lawyers named him to its Top 40 Under 40 list for Ohio in 2013. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has served as lead trial counsel on numerous six and seven figure verdicts and settlements.
He is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA), and the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ). In 2015 he completed the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. In 2019 he was invited to join the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization reserved for trial lawyers who have completed a substantial number of jury trials to verdict and who exemplify civility, integrity, and professionalism in the courtroom.
