OXNARD, CA (June 6, 2020) – A 41-year-old woman was killed, and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 1, near Channel Islands Blvd.
Just before 8 a.m., CHP received a report of a two-car accident on Highway 1. The crash involved 2000 Lexus RX300, and a 2017 Nissan Rogue.
The driver of the Lexus was driving northbound on Highway 1 when for unknown reasons, they rear-ended the Nissan, which was stopped at a red light on Highway 1, at the intersection of Channel Islands Blvd.
The Nissan was pushed into the center median, while the Lexus ended up in a ditch off the shoulder of the Highway.
The 41-year-old female driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 14-year-old boy riding passenger in her vehicle was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
The 33-year-old female driver of the Lexus also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital as well. She has since been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
