SOUTH WHITTIER, CA (November 18, 2019) – A 13-year-old boy named Nomar was injured when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross Cole Road, just south of Tolman Drive.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Nomar was trying to cross Cole Road to reach his dad, who had come to pick him up from a friend’s house after school. A neighbor’s doorbell camera footage captured the moment that Nomar was struck by a black Toyota Camry and sent flying 15 feet into the air before slamming back into the ground.
Nomar was transported to a local hospital with a few broken bones and a gash in his head. Gina Lo-Bue, the driver of the Toyota, remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
Lo-Bue has not been arrested. Following the collision, neighbors reported that speed is an issue in the neighborhood.
