MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (April 9, 2020) – Two people were injured, one seriously, in a crash involving two trucks on Highway 156, near Oak Hills Drive.
The collision was reported around 9:15 a.m., and involved a flatbed truck and an armored truck, both heading west on Highway 156 between Prunedale and Castroville.
For unknown reasons, the flatbread truck suddenly swerved right and crashed into the armored truck. The flatbed truck flipped onto its side and the armored truck was forced to a stop.
The driver of the armored truck, only identified as a man from San Jose, sustained major injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas.
The driver of the flatbed truck suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
