CERES, CA (September 25, 2019) – Hannah Marie Garcia, 23, suffered major injuries in a collision with a minivan when she was attempting to cross the street at Central Avenue.
Just after 1:30 p.m., Garcia was crossing the west side of the road to the east when a Honda minivan being driven by 17-year-old Adriel Ayala-Riuas struck her and seriously injured her. She was transported to the hospital for treatment following the collision.
CHP Officer Thomas Olsen stated that Garcia was seemingly trying to cross the street to get to where her mother was parked when she was hit.
Ayala-Riuas is a permitted driver and had his mother in the car with him during the accident. Investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. No further information has been released.
