Contra Costa County Resident Identified as Victim in Fatal Rear-End Collision in San Francisco
San Francisco, CA (June 19, 2022) – Ismael Vidal Ramirez (22) of Contra Costa County was identified as the fatality in a rear-end collision in San Francisco on Sunday. According to East Bay Times, the incident reportedly occurred around 3:00 am.
Ramirez was sitting at the back when a pickup truck rear-ended their vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a pickup truck rear-ended a stopped car on westbound Interstate 80 near Treasure Island.
According to the CHP’s report, for yet an undetermined reason, a 2007 Infiniti M45 came to a stop in the left lane when it was struck by a 2014 Nissan Frontier pickup truck.
Then, the driver of the 2007 Infiniti and two other passengers sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries. One rear passenger, later identified as Ismael Vidal Ramirez was the sole fatality at the scene.
Following the collision, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Meanwhile, the other driver was hospitalized due to minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that he was released after being treated.
