California Highway Patrol officers and medical personnel responded to reports of a traffic crash involving a semi-truck on Corpus Road in Kern County.
Three victims were involved in the crash. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as Maria Guadalupe Escobedo of Lamont. Escobedo was a passenger of the vehicle that hit the semi-truck.
According to reports, the 2004 Ford driver, identified as Elvira Lopez, collided with a semi-truck as she attempted to pass by it. Following the collision, she lost control of the vehicle and flipped over.
Lopez was then transported to a hospital due to moderate injuries. The semi-truck driver, identified as Juan Ledezma, also sustained minor injuries.
