A Moorpark Train Crash Left 15 Victims Hospitalized in Ventura County
Moorpark, CA (June 29, 2023) – Fifteen victims sustained minor injuries after being involved in a Moorpark train crash in Ventura County. According to ABC7, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Ventura County Fire Department responded to a train crash involving an Amtrak train and a water truck, injuring fifteen victims in Moorpark.
The fifteen victims, including the truck driver, sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital.
According to the report, an Amtrak train heading to Seattle derailed after colliding with a water truck delivering water to local ranches.
The fire department confirmed that 198 passengers and 13 crew members were inside the train when the accident occurred.
Local photographer Michael Coons stated on Twitter that the truck belongs to the Ventura County Public Works Agency.
According to Sky5 footage, the front of the train was severely damaged, and the mangled truck was next to the tracks.
Meanwhile, authorities brought the uninjured passengers to the Moorpark Senior Center.
Furthermore, Amtrak issued the following statement in response to the crash:
“On June 28, 2023, Amtrak train 14 was traveling from Los Angeles to Seattle at approx. 11:15 a.m. PT when it struck a water truck obstructing the tracks at Moorpark, California. There were approximately 198 passengers and 13 crew onboard who were evacuated from the train, with no reports of serious injuries. The train derailed as a result of the impact but remained upright. Amtrak is working with customers to make alternate travel arrangements. Amtrak, in coordination with local authorities, is conducting a full investigation.”
Due to the collision, the company suspended its Amtrak services between Ventura and Los Angeles.
Moreover, the NTSB, Amtrak, and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this Moorpark train crash.
