Newark, CA (January 10, 2022) – Juan Gonzalez-Ramirez (22) died in a suspected DUI vehicle accident at Saint Isabel Street near Cedar Boulevard in Newark. The incident happened at 11:20 pm.
According to the authorities, four people were involved. They were found inside a vehicle that crashed into an empty parked vehicle. Gonzalez-Ramirez was one of the passengers and he was unresponsive when police found him.
Officers provided initial care and immediately took Juan Gonzalez-Ramirez to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. Fortunately, the other three occupants of the vehicle only sustained minor injuries.
The 24-year-old driver was suspected to have driven under the influence and was arrested. However, a records check was done on Monday evening, which did not list him in custody.
