According to a statement released by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, the incident occurred when a deputy, traveling eastbound on Waterloo Road near a Taco Bell opposite Piccoli Road, collided with a pedestrian in the lane. The exact speed at which the deputy was traveling remains undetermined.
