ANTELOPE, CA (July 5, 2019) – Terilynn Collins, 25, suffered major injuries in a 1 a.m. hit-and-run on Palmerson Drive.
Collins was walking back home with her boyfriend after enjoying the Fourth of July fireworks displays in her neighborhood when a black SUV struck her on the sidewalk, sending her flying into the air. Witnesses say the driver exited the vehicle briefly to check damage to the car, before fleeing the scene.
The California Highway Patrol said that the driver also plowed down multiple poles on the sidewalk.
Collins suffered a broken femur and crushed pelvis, among other injuries. Her parents Kathy and Lance Collins stated that she will have to relearn how to walk and will likely spend months bedridden. A GoFundme page has been set up to help her family pay for multiple surgeries she needs.
