Just after 5 p.m., the Turlock Police Department received reports of a two-vehicle accident between an Acura and an SUV. The Acura, which was traveling west on Angelus street, pulled into the intersection and was broadsided by the SUV heading south on West Avenue South.
The SUV collided into the passenger side of the Acura, where Gutierrez was sitting. She was pinned in the vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters, but she passed away at the hospital not long after the accident.
