Howlett Jackson, Jr. (JR) is an associate attorney at Jacoby and Meyers.
JR earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Villa Julie College (Now Stevenson University) and his Juris Doctor from University of Baltimore School of Law. During law school, he developed a strong foundation in legal analysis and advocacy, with an emphasis on litigation strategy and persuasive writing. After beginning his legal training in the Maryland/Washington, D.C. area, JR transitioned his practice to California, where he focuses on plaintiff-side personal injury litigation and advocacy for injured individuals.
Early in his legal career, JR gained hands-on experience across all stages of personal injury litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement preparation. He now practices at Jacoby & Meyers, where he supports litigation teams on complex, high-value injury cases. JR has also completed advanced trial advocacy training through the Trial Lawyers College and is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He is also a member of the John M. Langston Bar Association and the LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
Outside of work, JR enjoys playing competitive volleyball, writing, and exploring music and food as sources of balance and creative expression. He values discipline, curiosity, and continuous growth, principles that inform both his personal life and his approach to advocating for injured clients.
