39-Year-Old Female Driver Died in a Multi-Car Accident in Porterville
Porterville, CA (May 18, 2023) – A multi-car accident in Porterville resulted in one fatality. According to Your Central Valley, the crash occurred before 5:05 a.m. on Thursday.
A multi-car accident in Porterville left one driver dead.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a three-car accident on Avenue 56, west of Road 168 in Porterville.
According to the reports, a 61-year-old Chevrolet driver, identified as Antonio Barietagonzalez, was behind a Freightliner on eastbound Avenue 56, west of Road 168, when he tried to move past the vehicle going 40 to 45 mph through the west side lane.
Authorities said that Barietagonzalez used his headlights to signal his turn.
Unfortunately, he collided with a 2014 Honda driven by a 39-year-old woman as soon as he attempted to pass.
He also hit the Freightliner on its left side.
The Honda driver died at the accident scene when she was trapped in the collision.
Her identity is yet to be disclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Freightliner was identified as 59-year-old Rodolfo Zamora of Delano, CA.
Authorities believe that drugs or alcohol are not a factor in this multi-car accident in Porterville.
