Semi-Truck Crash Killed Bicyclist Alfonso Chavez in Fresno
Fresno, CA (July 12, 2022) – Alfonso Chavez (33) of Sanger was identified as the fatality in a semi-truck crash in Fresno. According to Your Central Valley, the accident happened around 3:40 am on Monday.
Alfonso Chavez was riding his bike on Jensen and De Wolf Avenues in Fresno when a semi-truck hit him from behind.
The California Highway Patrol reported a crash involving a bicyclist and a semi-truck on Jensen and De Wolf Avenues in Fresno.
Responding officers then pronounced one victim dead at the scene of the crash. He was later identified as Alfonso Chavez of Fresno.
Authorities further reported that Chavez turned his bicycle to the left and ended up in front of the path of the semi-truck. Then, the semi-truck hit the rear end of the bicycle. Chavez got ejected from his bicycle.
Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
