Caltrans Worker Ali Shabazz Killed in Fatal Mendota Two-Vehicle Collision
Mendota, CA (August 8, 2022) – Ali Shabazz (48) was identified as the fatality in a two-vehicle collision near San Diego and California Avenues in Mendota. According to Fresno Bee, the crash happened on Sunday.
Ali Shabazz died at the scene after a fatal two-vehicle collision near San Diego and California Avenues in Mendota.
The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal two-vehicle collision near San Diego and California Avenues in Mendota.
Both drivers died at the scene. One of the fatalities was identified by the California Department as Ali Shabazz, a civil engineer at Caltrans.
Authorities previously identified the other driver as Marquis Pratcher of Merced.
According to CHP, Pratcher reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign when he collided with Shabazz’s vehicle. Shabazz was on his way to a job site.
This collision remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, Caltrans has arranged a memorial fund in Ali Shabazz’s name for his surviving wife and eight children.
