Fresno, CA (August 22, 2023) – Daniel Reason (35) of Fresno died at the scene of a Southeast Fresno bicycle accident. According to the Fresno Bee, the crash occurred around 12:30 pm on Monday.

A Southeast Fresno bicycle accident left a cyclist fatal after veering off the road and striking a trailer along Cedar Avenue in Calwa.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the mountain bike rider as Daniel Reason, a 35-year-old resident of Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Reason was heading south on the sidewalk along Cedar Avenue when, for reasons unknown, he made a left turn from the sidewalk, south of Kaviland avenues, and entered the street.
In doing so, he collided with a passing big rig traveling south, pulling a trailer.
Unfortunately, the collision caused Reason to strike the trailer and be thrown to the ground. The trailer’s tires subsequently ran him over.
Moreover, authorities confirmed that Reason was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the big rig driver cooperated with law enforcement and showed no signs of impairment.
Currently, the police initiated a toxicology report. However, the results are still pending.
