Chula Vista, CA (August 24, 2022) – An Interstate 5 multi-vehicle accident left two men with severe injuries in Chula Vista. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the crash happened around 5:45 am on Wednesday.
Two men suffered major injuries in an Interstate 5 multi-vehicle accident near H Street in Chula Vista.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a male driver (60) in a gold-colored Toyota SUV attempted to move into a different lane on the freeway. Then, it hit a silver Honda SUV, making the Toyota lose control and flip.
Other cars tried to evade the SUV, causing more crashes. Another driver (64) crashed into the SUV and overturned.
Both aforementioned drivers in their 60s suffered major injuries. Responders then transported them to a hospital for medical care. Meanwhile, no other drivers suffered any injuries.
The CHP’s investigation delayed traffic southbound on the I-5. At the moment, they don’t believe alcohol or drugs were involved in this crash.
