Kelly Koger Fatal in Merced County Head-on Collision
Merced County, CA (August 02, 2023) – Kelly Koger (61) was identified as the fatality in Merced County head-on collision. According to Merced Sun-Star, the crash happened on Thursday morning.
Kelly Koger died at the scene of the Merced County head-on collision.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal head-on collision on Applegate Road, just south of Atwater Jordan Road, outside the City of Atwater.
The collision involved a motorcycle and a Dodge pickup truck.
The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified the motorcycle rider as 61-year-old Kelly Koger from Atwater.
Kelly Koger was traveling on a motorcycle in the Northbound Lane of Applegate Road.
Authorities stated that, for unknown reasons, Kelly Koger suddenly veered into the southbound lane directly in front of a woman driving a Dodge pickup truck.
The two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in Kelly Koger being pronounced dead at the scene.
The police report that it appears the driver of the Dodge was unable to avoid the collision.
