Long Beach, CA (July 11, 2023) – A pilot sustained minor injuries from a Long Beach plane crash at Long Beach Airport. According to ABC7, the authorities received a report about the accident at around 2:18 p.m. on Monday.

The authorities responded to a Long Beach plane crash involving a small plane at Long Beach Airport on the 2900 block of East Spring Street.
According to the responding paramedics, they witnessed a Cessna 172 punched through the ceiling of an airport hangar building, jammed nose-down, and partially lodged in the opening.
The crash caused minor injuries to the pilot, the sole occupant on board. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot presumably practiced takeoffs and landings when the plane crashed.
Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson Jake Heflin also mentioned that the plane spilled 45 gallons of fuel into the building, but there was no active fire. Responders cleared the scene at about 3:50 p.m.
Meanwhile, Long Beach Airport spokesperson Kate Kuykendall confirmed that no airport commercial operations were affected by the accident.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are still investigating the cause of this Long Beach plane crash.
