The first incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Saturday when a northbound Ford F-550 pickup truck veered off Pine Valley Boulevard near Rocky Pass, fatally striking 61-year-old Mary Stewart of Pine Valley, according to reports from the Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.
Despite efforts by paramedics, Stewart succumbed to her injuries after being transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Moreover, less than 24 hours later, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, a vehicle traveling eastbound struck 21-year-old Armando Gutierrez of Escondido as he crossed Oceanside Boulevard just west of College Boulevard in Oceanside.
Gutierrez was with friends at the time of the accident. Responders rushed him to Tri-City Medical Center, where he died.
Furthermore, these San Diego pedestrian crashes concluded on Monday night around 10:55 p.m. when 63-year-old Darryle Lawler was crossing state Route 94 near Old Campo Road in Spring Valley.
An eastbound Audi sedan collided with Lawler, resulting in his fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, the Audi driver pulled over, allowing a passenger to exit the vehicle. The passenger subsequently dialed 911 to report the accident.
However, the driver fled the scene before authorities arrived.
