Sandy Mendoza Fatally Struck in Highway 180 DUI Crash in Fresno County, Four Passengers Injured
Fresno County, CA (September 19, 2022) – Sandy Mendoza (20) was identified as the fatality in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 180 in Fresno County. According to The Fresno Bee, the crash occurred around 9:18 pm on Saturday.
A crash caused by a suspected DUI driver killed Sandy Mendoza and injured four other passengers on Highway 180 in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol reported a suspected DUI crash on Highway 41, East of Shasta Avenue in Madera County.
One driver died at the scene following the crash. The Fresno County Coroner’s office identified the driver as Sandy Mendoza of Mendota.
Mendoza had four passengers in her vehicle; two 21-year-olds, a 20-year-old, and a 14-year-old. All passengers sustained moderate to major injuries and were taken to the Community Regional Medical Center.
According to reports, another driver swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with Mendoza’s vehicle.
The driver was later identified as Antonio Orosco. He sustained major injuries in the crash.
Authorities later arrested Orosco on suspicion of drug impairment and vehicular manslaughter.
