The incident transpired around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Tulare and Cedar Avenues, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.
Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer revealed that a teenager driving a black pickup truck traveled at a dangerously high speed and headed southbound on Cedar Avenue. Unfortunately, the young driver lost control, careened onto the curb, and collided with approximately 20 students at the FAX bus stop.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 11 students, all awaiting their buses, had sustained injuries at the nearby FAX bus stop. Responders then took the injured victims to local hospitals for necessary medical treatment.
According to Mayor Dyer, none of their injuries appear to be life-threatening, ranging from broken limbs to back pain. They promptly notified all parents and will receive updates on their children’s well-being status.
