An Innocent Bystander, Victor Cardenas, Fatally Struck by Fleeing Suspect in Central Fresno
Fresno, CA (February 10, 2023) – Victor Cardenas (29) was identified as the fatality in a high-speed crash involving a fleeing suspect in Central Fresno. According to ABC30, the incident started after 11:00 pm on Wednesday.
A fleeing suspect crashed into Victor Cardenas, an innocent bystander, following a pursuit in Central Fresno.

Responders were able to rush the victim to Community Regional Medical Center. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to injuries.
The victim was recently identified as Victor Cardenas of Fresno.
According to police, the pursuit started when the suspect driver attempted to flee after they were stopped for non-moving traffic violations.
However, the police eventually terminated the pursuit due to the high rate of speed. But the suspect driver kept speeding to Shields Avenue, ran a red light, and crashed into another vehicle.
Right now, the suspect driver, identified as Andrew Calderon, is in critical condition.
Police also confirmed that he has a prior arrest warrant for domestic violence charges.
Calderon is currently facing multiple felony charges for vehicular manslaughter, DUI causing death, and evasion causing death.
His two passengers were also detained and released by police.
