Oakland, CA (February 20, 2023) – A 100-year-old man, yet to be named by authorities, was identified as the fatality in a hit-and-run crash near Lake Merritt in Oakland. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the crash occurred after 7:00 am.

The Oakland Police Department is seeking the driver responsible for the hit-and-run crash involving a 100-year-old man near Lake Merritt.
The victim is yet to be named, as his family is still being notified.
Paramedics and first responders immediately aided the victim after they found him at the scene with severe head trauma.
According to the police, the victim was struck by a tan or white Mini Cooper. The driver then fled the scene after hitting the 100-year-old man.
