Desert Hot Springs, CA (September 11, 2023) – Cheryl McCoy (68) of Phoenix, Arizona succumbed to fatal injuries in a DHS I-10 motorcycle crash after a motorcycle she was on overturned. According to the Patch, officers responded to the accident at 11:24 a.m. on September 7.

The victim of a DHS I-10 motorcycle crash last week was Cheryl McCoy, a 68-year-old resident of Phoenix, Arizona. Authorities confirmed her identity over the weekend following the tragic incident.
Following the accident, Cheryl McCoy, a passenger on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle towing a small trailer, sustained critical injuries in the crash.
Despite rapid medical attention, McCoy succumbed to fatal injuries at Desert Regional Medical Center less than two hours after the incident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old male driver of the Harley-Davidson made a left turn while traveling at a speed of around 70 mph for unknown reasons. The maneuver resulted in the loss of control of the motorcycle, ultimately leading it to overturn in the center divider of the freeway.
The crash’s impact caused both individuals to be ejected from the Harley-Davidson. Paramedics promptly transported them to the hospital with severe injuries. Unfortunately, Cheryl McCoy could not survive her injuries.
