A teenager and a small child managed to free themselves from the crushed vehicle as rescue crews arrived at the scene.
However, their mother was only extricated after responding firefighters lifted the tree branch using a crane.
They then treated the mother at the scene and took her to a nearby hospital.
Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Daniel Curry revealed that the tree branch fell onto the car while it was reversing out of its designated parking spot.
