Clearlake Resident James Torrey Jr. Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Lake County
Lake County, CA (July 21, 2022) – James Torrey Jr. (43) of Clearlake was identified as the fatality in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 53 in Lake County. According to Lake County News, the crash happened around 1:00 am on Wednesday.
A suspected drunken driver reportedly hit James Torrey Jr. on Highway 53 in Lake County.
The Clearlake Police Department responded to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian and a suspected drunken driver on Highway 53 in Lake County.
When they arrived, they found a driver and a pedestrian at the scene. The pedestrian was then pronounced dead. Authorities later identified him as James Torrey Jr. of Clearlake.
Meanwhile, the suspected drunken driver was identified as James Nielsen. He sustained minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, authorities arrested Nielsen on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter. According to reports, he was later released on Wednesday.
