San Ysidro, CA (September 11, 2023) – A 21-year old Escondido man was arrested after crashing his car into an SUV and killing one person in a San Ysidro suspected DUI crash. According to 10news, the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
A San Ysidro DUI crash killed one person after a 21-year-old driver hit an SUV. Authorities also arrested the suspected DUI driver.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal San Ysidro DUI crash involving a 21-year-old driver from Escondido.
The driver allegedly caused the accident while driving a Volkswagen coupe in the northbound lane when he collided with a 58-year-old Tijuana man’s Honda SUV from behind.
Unfortunately, the victim died from his injuries. However, whether he died at the scene or in the hospital remains unclear.
Meanwhile, the driver who caused the accident was transported to a hospital to treat unspecified injuries.
The authorities confirmed that they arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
At this time, neither the driver nor the victim’s names have been released.
