Fresno, CA (August 4, 2023) – Yadira Ruby Pineda (32) succumbed to her injuries after being involved in a suspected DUI crash in Fresno. According to ABC30, the crash happened around 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
Yadira Ruby Pineda, a 32-year-old passenger, succumbed to fatal injuries in a suspected DUI crash in Fresno after a vehicle crashed into a parked box truck.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a suspected DUI crash in Fresno that left a woman passenger fatally injured.
The police identified the victim as 32-year-old Yadira Ruby Pineda of Selma.
According to the authorities, the collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. when 31-year-old Jesus Acevedo-Arana, suspected of driving under the influence, crashed his Honda Accord with a stationary box truck near Clovis and American Avenues.
Moreover, preliminary investigations suggest that the driver was recklessly speeding, causing a section of his car to go beneath the semi-truck.
Unfortunately, the impact proved fatal for the Honda passenger, while Arana is in critical condition at a hospital and under police custody.
Meanwhile, the truck driver also sustained injuries. Another vehicle driver involved in the crash remained unharmed.
Officer Trejo stated that Arana might have a history of driving violations.
He mentioned, “At this time, we are looking into his past driving history to decide if there’s gonna be further charges. But it does appear there’s something there.”
Furthermore, CHP officers confirmed that the driver would be charged with felony DUI and could face a possible vehicular manslaughter charge for this suspected DUI crash in Fresno.
