A 23-Year-Old Woman Fatal in a 15 Freeway Car Crash near Wildomar Trail
Wildomar, CA (August 5, 2023) – A 23-year-old woman succumbed to fatal injuries after a 15 freeway car crash near Wildomar Trail. According to Patch, the crash was reported around 12:40 am on Saturday.
A 23-year-old woman from Mission Hills sustained fatal injuries after a 15 Freeway car crash near Wildomar Trail.
The California Highway Patrol reported a 15 Freeway car crash involving a 2014 Hyundai Genesis, a Nissan Rogue, and a 2019 Nissan Armada.
The crash happened on the southbound Temecula Valley 15 freeway just north of Wildomar Trail.
According to the police, the driver of the Hyundai Genesis was traveling at high speed when she rear-ended a Nissan Rogue. The Hyundai then stopped in the southbound No. 2 lane and became disabled.
Meanwhile, the Nissan Armada, also traveling south on I-15, crashed into the stopped Hyundai due to the dark conditions and lack of overhead lighting.
The occupants of the Hyundai did not wear seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
On the other hand, a passenger, identified as 24-year-old Alicia Gonzalez of Vista, sustained major injuries.
Moreover, the driver of the Nissan Armada, 47-year-old Nache Phillips of Aguanga, suffered minor injuries.
No information is available regarding the occupants of the Nissan Rogue involved in the initial crash.
The CHP and Cal Fire Riverside closed the southbound traffic lanes for about six hours for investigation and clearance.
The CHP believes that the 23-year-old driver of the Hyundai was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
