Oakdale, CA (October 04, 2021) – Anthony Lucero, 26, was killed by another vehicle on Crows Landing Road, near Clausen Road in Stanislaus County.
The collision was reported around 05:47 a.m. California Highway Patrol and Stanislaus County paramedics responded to the scene shortly thereafter. Lucero had stopped his disabled car, a Dodge Ram and began walking southbound on Crows Landing Road when the defendant’s minivan hit him.
Police and first responders found Lucero on Crows Landing Road, near Clausen road, between the cities of Turlock and Patterson. The defendant, the driver of the minivan, stayed at the scene.
Lucero was transported to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the deadly crash and the defendant was cooperative with the investigation. The circumstances of the fatal crash continue to be investigated.
