Del Rey, CA (September 1, 2023) – Adrian Gonzalez (24) and a four-year-old boy died at the scene of a Del Rey crash in Fresno County. According to the Fresno Bee, the crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on Friday.

The coroner identified the two individuals who died in a fatal Dey Rey crash in Fresno County. Among the victims was a 4-year-old boy.
Authorities released the victims’ identities as 27-year-old Adrian Gonzalez of Fresno and 4-year-old Enrique Flores Jr. of Del Rey. The collision occurred shortly before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Jefferson and Bethel Avenues near Del Rey.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old Honda driver, with a four-year-old passenger, headed east along Jefferson Avenue and ran a stop sign. At the same time, a Chevrolet Suburban going north on Bethel without a stop sign failed to take evasive actions, eventually broadsiding the Honda.
Unfortunately, the Honda driver and the 4-year-old driver succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, a family of five who occupied the Chevrolet Suburban was transported to medical facilities with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
As the investigation continues, it remains unclear why Gonzalez failed to stop at the designated stop sign. Authorities are considering various possibilities, including distractions or impaired visibility caused by the sun.
