Antioch Sideshow Crash Caused Injuries to Two Individuals, Car Submerged in River
Antioch, CA (August 9, 2023) – Two individuals sustained injuries and a car submerged in a river after an Antioch sideshow crash. According to NBC, the crash happened around 3:00 am on Sunday.

According to the authorities, the Antioch sideshow resulted in multiple collisions and caused injuries to two individuals.
The sideshow took place in the parking lot of the Antioch Marina and near the Smith’s Landing restaurant.
During the sideshow, one car struck a fire hydrant, causing the water main to break.
On the other hand, another car ended up submerged in the San Joaquin River, described as completely submerged by Battalion Chief Bob Atlas of the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
Both drivers left the scene before the arrival of law enforcement, according to a statement from the Antioch Police Department.
Just as officers arrived to disperse the sideshow, one driver fled quickly without lights on. As a result, an officer began pursuing the car but discontinued the chase upon realizing the windshield was obstructed by the car’s hood.
Subsequently, the driver crashed at Ninth and G streets, colliding with another car and a fire hydrant. The driver fled on foot but was apprehended by the police later.
The Contra Costa District Attorney’s office charged the 21-year-old suspect with three felonies and a misdemeanor.
Specifically, the charges include two felony counts of reckless driving, one felony count of hit and run, and one misdemeanor count of driving without a license.
Moreover, court records show he is being held on $191,000 bail.
A tow company later retrieved the submerged car on Sunday morning.
