San Francisco, CA (February 15, 2024) – A Bay Bridge crash left three people fatal and another hospitalized after a Mini Cooper and a pickup truck collided. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the police responded to the crash before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According to San Francisco Fire Lt. Mariano Elias, emergency services swiftly responded to a reported car crash on the bridge’s lower eastbound lanes where a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck collided with a stationary red Mini Cooper in the fourth lane just before the tunnel.
Unfortunately, the driver of the Mini Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene despite California Highway Patrol officers initiating CPR. A passenger seated in the back of the vehicle also succumbed to their injuries on-site.
Additionally, another passenger from the Mini Cooper, critically injured, was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment but, unfortunately, passed away later.
The driver of the pickup truck, on the other hand, sustained moderate injuries. Responders then transported the driver to a hospital for medical care.
Moreover, the cause behind the Mini Cooper coming to a stop remains unclear. Authorities are still investigating the cause of this Bay Bridge crash.
