Bethel Island, CA (September 9, 2023) – A 17-year old boy sustained major injuries after driving his car off the road and crashing into a fence along Gateway Road in a Bethel Island car crash. According to The Press, the authorities received a call shortly after 8:00 am on Saturday.

The Contra Costa Fire Protection District (Con Fire) reported receiving a distress call of a car veering off the road, with a possible victim ejected from the vehicle.
Upon arrival, emergency teams found the driver outside the vehicle, suffering severe injuries.
After stabilizing the teen at the crash site, they airlifted him to a local trauma center for advanced care.
An eyewitness provided a sequence of events, indicating the driver was moving west on Gateway Road when his car hit a gravel patch.
Consequently, he lost control of the vehicle. Despite his efforts to correct the course, he crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed into a fence.
Currently, the California Highway Patrol is investigating to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
Fortunately, there were no human passengers in the car during the incident.
However, the driver’s dog, inside the vehicle, got thrown out during the crash. Officials confirmed that the dog was safe. The driver’s family later later collected the dog.
