Eladio Balam-Poot Died of Injuries in Hit-and-Run Crash in Buena Park
Buena Park, CA (December 7, 2022) – Eladio Balam-Poot (73) was identified as the fatality in a hit-and-run crash at Valley View Street and Cerritos Avenue. According to The Orange County Register, the crash happened on November 15, but the victim died on November 28.

A hit-and-run crash at Valley View Street and Cerritos Avenue that took place on November 15 left one pedestrian dead. The Buena Park Police are still seeking the hit-and-run driver responsible for the fatal crash.
Authorities recently identified the victim as Eladio. He died on November 28 due to injuries sustained in the hit-and-run crash.
According to a news release, the Orange County Fire Authority and Buena Park Police found Balam-Poot with injuries on the east crosswalk while responding to calls of a traffic collision.
It was then determined that a northbound driver struck Balam-Poot as he crossed the intersection. The driver did not stop to render aid and continued on Valley View.
Police are currently searching for a pickup truck described as a “dark-colored Dodge Ram with a chrome bumper and chrome wheels.“
