Stockton, CA (August 24, 2023) – A driver succumbed to fatal injuries after his vehicle crashed into a big rig and pushed into a propane truck in a Highway 12 big rig crash. According to CBS News, the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

A Highway 12 big rig crash involving a sedan and a big rig tanker left one driver fatal and caused a traffic delay on a section of Highway 12.
The incident took place on Thursday at the intersection of Highway 12 and Guard Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two vehicles traveled in opposite directions – the big rig headed eastbound while the sedan went westbound.
The sedan driver attempted to overtake traffic by crossing solid double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a collision with the big rig.
Unfortunately, the collision occurred near a 30,000-gallon propane tank, causing both vehicles to be pushed into the tank and subsequently caught fire.
Although the big rig driver managed to escape and tried to assist the sedan driver, the driver could not survive the injuries sustained and died at the scene.
Currently, all lanes on Highway 12 remain closed, and the anticipated reopening time is 4 p.m. Motorists may explore alternative routes.
