A Highway 154 crash left one man dead and five others hospitalized in Santa Barbara County.
Santa Barbara County Fire reported a Highway 154 crash that caused the highway shutdown, killed one man, and sent five others to the hospital with moderate to critical injuries.
According to Spokesperson Scott Safechuck, the crash occurred on the 154, north of San Antonio Creek Road, and involved two vehicles: a Nissan Altima and an Infinity SUV.
Unfortunately, the male driver of the Altima, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The authorities are withholding his name until his next of kin are notified.
Safechuck stated that they took two of the five adult occupants in the SUV to Cottage Hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the remaining three were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
